What is the difference between day-care, childcare and early learning?

When it comes to taking care of your child, our role is much greater than simple day-care. Children start their development before they are even born, and as such, our early learning centre takes a central role in their development. The difference between basic childcare and our early learning centre is that we provide education, nutrition, and an environment that stimulates and inspires children as they grow each day.

Why is early learning important?

Research shows that children who start ahead tend to stay ahead. Significant differences in children’s development are evident by the age of two and have a tendency not to close over time. The early years provide the foundation for the rest of a child’s life. Children are born ready to learn and the best learning happens in nurturing, positive, stimulating environments. That’s why high-quality early learning centres are so important. By creating these environments, we’re providing the best opportunities for children to fulfil their potential.

What is early learning?

Children’s early learning happens everywhere, at home, in centres, parks and even shops. Young children develop at an extremely fast pace and everything they encounter offers a new learning experience.

What are the benefits of play-based learning?

learning is widely regarded as an effective strategy for helping develop children’s cognitive skills, as well as their imagination and social competence. Some of the key benefits of play-based learning include: Language development, as this happens in a natural way and amplified due to its relevance and enjoyableness for the child Improves pre-literacy skills such as listening and sound recognition Supports growth of social and emotional skills Fosters creativity, curiosity and imagination

What is the National Quality Framework?

The National Quality Framework (NQF) is a set of quality standards agreed upon by all Australian State Governments with the aim of delivering better educational and developmental outcomes for children. As a key component of the NQF, the National Quality Standards (NQS) sets a national benchmark for early childhood education and care, bringing together 7 quality areas: Educational program and practice Children’s health and safety Physical environment Staffing arrangements Relationships with children Collaborative partnerships with families and communities Leadership and service management
