Creating a Safe and Nurturing Environment at My Cubby House Early Learning

At My Cubby House Early Learning, we are driven by a deep commitment to providing a safe and nurturing environment for every child in our care. We firmly believe that children thrive when they feel secure and loved, and it’s our mission to ensure they have the best environment to grow and learn to their full potential.

Prioritising Safety: Safety is at the forefront of everything we do. To safeguard children from harm, we have established a comprehensive set of policies and procedures. Our entire staff is extensively trained in child protection and safety, equipping them to recognise and respond effectively to any concerns.

A Secure Physical Environment: Beyond policies, we’ve carefully designed our physical environment to be both safe and stimulating. Our facilities feature observation windows in all rooms, indoor and outdoor supervision points, and CCTV cameras in every play area. These measures enable us to maintain a watchful eye on the well-being of our children at all times.

Partnering with Parents: Collaboration with parents is paramount. We believe in open communication and encourage parents to share any concerns they may have. Regular updates on their child’s progress keep them informed and involved in their child’s journey with us. Our doors are always open for parents to visit and engage with our centre.

Our Commitment in Policy:

MCH Child Protection Policy: This policy underscores our dedication to shielding children from harm and outlines procedures for reporting and investigating concerns related to child abuse or neglect.

Child and Youth Risk Management Strategy: We conduct rigorous assessments of risks to children in our care and employ strategies to minimise and manage these risks effectively.

Meeting the National Principle Standards: We adhere to the National Quality Framework’s principles, which emphasise the safety and well-being of children in early childhood services.

Staff Training: Our staff is extensively trained in child protection and mandatory reporting. They are well-versed in our policies and procedures and are committed to creating a secure and nurturing environment for every child.

Partnership with Child Safety Office: Our partnership with the Child Safety Office ensures we have direct access to Child Safety Officers, allowing us to seek advice and support whenever necessary.

Parents as Partners: We view parents as crucial partners in creating a safe and nurturing environment. We encourage parents to engage in open dialogue, providing them with valuable insights into their child’s daily experiences.

Parental Involvement: Parents can contribute to a safe and nurturing environment by:

  • Talking to their child about safety and appropriate boundaries.
  • Setting clear expectations for their child’s behaviour.
  • Actively monitoring their child’s activities.
  • Maintaining open lines of communication with our teachers.
